Flood recovery continues as MODR volunteers work in and around the St. Louis area due to heavy flash flooding July 26.
Incident Commander Jerry Palmer said more than 30 volunteers from Missouri area churches are clearing damaged homes of debris and damaged drywall in preparation for disinfecting and power washing. Palmer expects several additional teams from surrounding states to join the efforts next week. Ongoing damage assessment continues, with more than 150 work orders outstanding.
Palmer said that despite sweltering temperatures and humidity, volunteers have accomplished much as families struggle to recover. Work will continue into next week. Palmer said more teams are needed.
