Hurricane Helene

“Why are you here?”, is the question most volunteers hear when meeting disaster survivor needs.  The mission of Missouri Baptist Disaster Relief is to transform lives and communities with the gospel by bringing help, hope, and healing.  Right now, MODR volunteers from MBC churches are planning to position in southeast Missouri (@ FBC Charleston) to provide a quick response to requests for assistance from our sister state conventions in the forecasted hurricane track.

All indications are that this is a large, dangerous storm that will cause catastrophic damage across several states.  In addition to a small team of experienced and dedicated volunteers, we plan to take with us some of the equipment that God has provided such as: a 10,000-meal mobile kitchen, 5,000 gallon potable water tanker, shower unit, large diesel generator, and additional support equipment.

Pray: Please pray for people in the path of this storm that they will find safety.  Pray also for the volunteers as they answer the question, “Why are you here?”

Give: Please give, we expect this storm to require an enormous number of resources to meet needs. Please consider giving at www.modr.org/give and select “Hurricane Helene” from the drop-down menu.
