Missouri Baptist Disaster Relief Continues Supporting Communities Impacted by Winter Storms in Louisiana and Tennessee

In the wake of the recent winter storm that caused widespread power outages and significant damage across Louisiana and Tennessee, Missouri Baptist Disaster Relief (MODR) volunteers have been actively serving to bring Help, Hope, and Healing to affected communities.

As part of our ongoing response, MODR deployed volunteers to assist with critical needs in both states. In Louisiana, our teams provided support through Shower and Laundry units at two ministry sites, serving residents, responders, and local partners throughout the recovery period. Additional MODR chainsaw and debris‑removal teams have been working in both Louisiana and Tennessee to clear downed trees and help families move toward recovery.

Thanks to the dedication of our volunteers, to-date we have completed:

  • 323 volunteer days
  • 2,595 volunteer hours
  • 146 chainsaw jobs
  • 290 loads of laundry washed
  • 223 showers provided

These numbers represent real families helped, real needs met, and many doors opened for spiritual care and encouragement during a difficult time.

MODR continues to serve in an ongoing support role, partnering closely with Louisiana Baptists and Tennessee Baptists as additional needs arise. Our volunteers stand ready to respond as communities move through the long process of recovery.

Your generosity allows our volunteers to continue bringing practical help and Christ‑centered compassion to those impacted by disaster. To support Missouri Baptist Disaster Relief, you can give to the general fund at:
