MODR Responds to Winter Storm Relief Needs in Northern Louisiana

Missouri Disaster Relief (MODR) teams have been actively serving in Northern Louisiana following the recent winter and ice storm that brought widespread damage, prolonged power outages, and hazardous conditions across the region.

In response to these urgent needs, MODR has deployed Shower and Laundry units as well as Chainsaw teams to support recovery efforts. Chainsaw crews are assisting in clearing fallen trees and debris—an essential need as ice-laden trees and vegetation had caused extensive blockages and continued to fall even after the storm passed.

The severity of the storm created challenges for residents, with damaged property, inaccessible areas, and continuing outages in rural regions. MODR teams are providing critical support to affected communities, helping restore safe access, meet essential personal-care needs with shower and laundry options, and bringing relief to families experiencing extended hardship.

MODR is grateful for the dedication of our volunteers who stepped into difficult conditions to serve those impacted. Their work exemplifies our mission to bring help, hope, and healing in times of crisis.
