Missouri Baptist Disaster Relief entered a 3-year partnership with Central Asia through Send Relief International at the 2022 Annual Meeting.
The partnership creates a framework for Missouri Baptists to provide disaster relief services such as training, consultation, and response to Level 2 disasters when needed, much like the 2023 Turkey earthquake response where several MODR teams assisted in the completion of semi-permanent housing for approximately 80 families.
In addition, the opportunity to support development projects helps build relationships for future disaster relief efforts when needed. Disaster Relief training is not required for participation. We encourage churches to consider how to get involved at any level.
To celebrate and give an update of our Central Asia relationship we will host a Central Asia Disaster Relief Partnership dinner at the 2023 Annual Meeting at Crossway Baptist Church in Springfield, MO on Monday, October 23 from 5:00 p.m.-6 p.m.
We will have field personnel, testimonies, and 2024 project requests for attendees. The dinner is free but registration is required.
