Rebuilding Hope after Hurricane Helene: A Home for John and Lisa

When Hurricane Helene tore through the mountains of western North Carolina, countless families were left with shattered homes and broken hearts. Among them were John and Lisa, a couple near Burnsville, NC, who lost their home in the storm’s devastating aftermath.

Though the storm destroyed their house, it could not shake their faith. With hope in Christ and the support of His people, John and Lisa are trusting God for a new beginning.

Missouri Baptist Disaster Relief (MODR) volunteers have committed to walking alongside John and Lisa in this journey by helping rebuild their home. Our prayer and goal is to see them move into their new home by Christmas 2025, but we know that depends on many factors — weather, volunteers, and resources.
