Responding with help and hope after Hurricane Melissa

Hurricane Melissa was an extremely powerful, erratic, and devastating tropical cyclone—now recorded as the third-most intense Atlantic hurricane on record. Its impact has been felt deeply across the Caribbean, including Jamaica, where communities are now facing the long road to recovery.

In response, Missouri Baptist Disaster Relief (MODR) is mobilizing to serve those affected. At the end of January, two MODR teams are scheduled to deploy to Jamaica to assist with relief efforts and bring practical help, compassionate presence, and the hope of Christ to survivors of the storm.

How You Can Help

We ask you to pray:

  • For the MODR volunteers who will be serving—that they would have strength, wisdom, safety, and opportunities to reflect Christ in all they do.
  • For the survivors in Jamaica—that they would experience comfort, provision, and renewed hope in the midst of loss.

You can also give to support this work. Financial gifts help make rapid response and sustained recovery possible.
